Pet Doors Installed Into Glass

This is not a DIY job.

Glass cannot simply be cut on-site. Once glass is toughened, it can’t be altered, which means the entire panel needs to be replaced with a new piece of safety glass that is manufactured with the pet door opening already in place.

We handle the full process from start to finish, ensuring everything is done properly and safely:

  • Measuring your existing glass panel to ensure an exact fit
  • Recommending the right pet door size and the most practical position
  • Ordering a custom-made toughened safety glass panel with the cut-out included
  • Removing the old panel and professionally installing the new one
  • Sealing and finishing everything so it looks clean and operates smoothly

The end result is a secure, high-quality installation that integrates seamlessly into your existing door or window, without affecting how it opens, closes or locks.

Why Install a Pet Door in Glass?

A properly installed pet door isn’t just about convenience. It’s a practical upgrade that improves how your home functions day to day while still maintaining a clean, finished look.
Instead of interrupting what you’re doing every time your pet wants to go in or out, you can rely on a solution that works in the background. When installed into glass correctly, it integrates seamlessly into your existing doors or windows without compromising safety, insulation or appearance.

  • No more constantly opening doors
  • Gives your pet independence and routine
  • Maintains the look of your home
  • Proper sealing to reduce drafts
  • Safe, toughened glass for peace of mind

It’s a simple change that makes a noticeable difference in everyday living.

Custom Fit for Your Home

Every home is different, and so is every installation.

The type of glass, the layout of your doors or windows, and even how your pet uses the space all play a role in getting the right outcome. That’s why we don’t take a one size fits all approach. Every pet door installation is carefully assessed to ensure it’s practical, safe and suited to your setup.

We work with:

  • Sliding glass doors
  • Fixed glass panels
  • Windows
  • Double-glazed units (where suitable)

We also consider factors like door movement, panel size and positioning to make sure the pet door works properly without affecting how your glass opens, closes or locks.

If you’re unsure whether your setup will work, we can assess it and give you clear, honest advice on the best option.

How Much Does Pet Door Installation Cost?

The cost of installing a pet door in glass can vary depending on your specific setup, as each installation involves custom-made materials and professional fitting.

Pricing typically depends on:

  • The size of the glass panel being replaced
  • The type and size of the pet door selected
  • Whether new toughened safety glass is required (in most cases, it is)
  • The type of glass, such as single or double-glazed

Because the glass needs to be manufactured with the cut-out before installation, the process involves creating a brand new panel rather than modifying the existing one. This ensures the glass remains safe, compliant and durable.

We can often provide a rough estimate over the phone based on your measurements and a few details about your setup. From there, we’ll confirm everything during an on-site visit, including final sizing, placement and a fixed quote so you know exactly what to expect.
